Most Anticipated June 2024 Series on Streaming Platform
June 2024 series premieres new and returning series from different genres, from the latest Star Wars universe tale to the second part of the new Bridgeton season. Here are the most anticipated June 2024 series.
1. The Acolyte (5 June)
The new addition to the Star Wars universe is the story about Padawan and the final days of the High-Republic Era. Set 100 years before The Phantom Menace from the Star Wars original film, the series starred Squid Games' Lee Jung-Jae and Dafne Keen (Logan, His Dark Material).
Early reviews suggest an excellent story and darker nuance in the first episodes. It also praised the superb performance of Amandla Stenberg and Lee Jung-Jae, especially in the fight choreography with hand-to-hand combat that some call 'Force-fu.'
The Boys Season 4 (13 June)
Butcher and friends are back as The Boys keep finding ways to overpower the supes on acclaimed action/gore series. The story developed after last year's Gen V spin-off when the group found a serum that could kill the supes.
All of the show's characters will return, including Black Noir, who was killed in the season 3 finale. The fourth season will contain only 8 episodes. Still, showrunner Eric Kripke stated the fifth season will be released in May 2025 with the spin-off Gen V.
3. Bridgeton Season 3 Part 2 (13 June)
A month away from the first part, showrunner Jess Brownell stated that the third season invites the audience to focus on the love story between Colin and Penelope. The story will reveal some layers of characters who had previously been on the fringes of the narrative.
Critics praise Season 3 as the best season because of the fantastic acting, beautiful scenes, great plot, excellent writing, and even more with the 'juicy' scenes. The remaining of season 3 will be dropped on 13 June 2024.
4. Presumed Innocent (14 June)
Presumed Innocent is adapted from the novel of the same name by Scott Turrow, first adapted into a movie in 1980 starring Harrison Ford. Jack Gyllenhaal will reprise Rusty Sabich in an eight-part mini-series that premiered on Apple+.
Developed by David E. Kelley and J. J. Abrams, the story follows Turrow, a prosecutor accused of the murder of his colleagues and mistress Carolyn Polhemus, played by Renate Reinsve, a Norwegian actress who starred in the critically acclaimed The Worst Person in the World (2021).
5. The Bear Season 3 (27 June)
Jeremy White Allen is back as Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto in the Emmy-winning comedy-drama series The Bear. It follows the ending of the third season when Carmy and Sydney are opening and managing their new restaurant, The Bear.
From the trailer released, the shows are still being stuffed with the chaos in the kitchen and jazz. Fans will get the fourth season as it is being shot back-to-back with the third season. The season 3 episodes are all released on 27 June on Hulu.
6. House of the Dragon Season 2 (16 June)
House of the Dragon renewed the popularity of Game of Thrones when it was first released in August 2022. This epic fantasy drama by George R. Martin returns for a second season of eight episodes and premiered on HBO.
It will include a revenge plot against Alicent following the events of last year's first-season finale. Season 2 will be paraded by many new characters, such as Gayle Rankin, Simon Russell Beale, and Abubakar Salim, joining the cast and reportedly introducing some new winged beasts.
